| hahaha. ok. so i am officially fired from xanga! not updating for a month and a half.. i mean, come on! who does that?
Sorry to my friends who are patient enough with me to actually visit this site and then find it empty! without updates!
Anyhow, i actually came on to offer gmail to anyone who is interested.
I have something like 6 invites and I just don't know who wants one...
email me at kalidrake@gmail.com if you would like one.
HECK! Email me at kalidrake@gmail.com from now on since it has 1000MB
of storage. Freakin A! My mailbox will NEVER be full! Yay for
that!
So yeah, rumors are true, I did get to go to Japan in August right
before our Fall term started. Then I was in panic mode for about
the last 3 weeks trying to deal with moving in 70 new kids to
Thailand...I'm their parent/teacher/tourguide for their first couple
weeks here and while its fun, sometimes its like babysitting! No, but
truely, there is a great group of newbees that joined the campus this
term and I'll have a busy semester trying to keep them active, doing
volunteer work and sports and such and out of the bars! But its
probably too late for that already! They've been going out consistently
for the past two weeks. I'm curious as to if this is just a thing
that people do in countries where they can drink at a younger age or if
it is more specific to Thailand. The biggest group that parties
is definately my study abroad kids and I assume that's because they're
taking the "studying abroad isn't really going to school"
attitude. Wish there was something I could do about that but
maybe I'll just have to let "kids be kids".
Anyhow, brief on japan...it was fun...:) hahhah. I'm sure you all
guessed that. No, but seriously, it was the most wonderful week simply
because I didn't have to think about work and I could sleep in
everyday! Also got to eat great Japanese food and spend countless hours
bugging David. What more does a girl need? The weather
wasn't too great the week I was there: hot, humid, rainy and constantly
threatening to typhoon on my parade. Luckily I managed a few days
of sun to do sightseeing and the rest of the time I just wandered
around the famous shopping district of Kyoto and lazed about in David's
apartment. I LOVE being lazy, especially on rainy days.
Better than being lazy, though, is catching up on the sleep I've lost
over the last 8 months. I think I must've slept more in the week
in Japan than I've slept in a whole month here in Thailand! hhahaha.
Anyhow, I'm back to reality now and about to venture on a 13 hr field
trip tomorrow with the newbees. I'll be showing them around the
famous shopping areas of Bangkok and teaching them how to use the
skytrain and underground rail. Should be fun.

| yay & whew at the same time. This week (and the last two) have been hectic. I welcomed a new group of students for summer term (4 days of orientation), planned for several upcoming, important events and learned a new job, to be added to my current duties. This past two weeks I worked to get something I named "Trees for Children" in the works, implemented and accomplished. As part of Webster Works Worldwide http://www.webster.edu/www/www.html a volunteer program held by all the campuses, I put together (with much much help) a two day tree planting activity w/70 volunteers from WUT at two elementary schools with 500 trees. What fun, but definately a lot of work for me. If I can, I'll post photos.
And the YAY part of my day is that my favorite person in the world (don't worry mom&dad, this means favorite person besides my family) is coming to visit. I hope she's not disappointed with Thailand. I think its funny, that after so many years, and a few upsets of plans, we will actually get to play out our "promise" to travel Thailand together.
| I HAVE A PLACE TO LIVE!!! HIP HIP HOORAY! Seee my friend's webpage dated May 28th. http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=Pink11 That's the pool at the condo-plex that I moved into recently! I'll post photos of my new house as soon as I get it all spiffed up. I've signed the contract for 6 months, so I'll probably be staying here until the end of the year. That means I have an extra bedroom now for all of you people who MUST come to Thailand! Come visit, now you don't have an excuse!!! Free rent from me and I'll even COOK for you too!! :) | | |
| Wow. Alright, so I'm not getting any better at journaling online. Sorry everyone. Thank you for those who still stop by to see what I'm up to!
Graduation was terrific! I was so happy to be back for a bit and see so many people. In a way it was really hard cause I didn't get to see anyone for more than a few minutes at a time. My family was about the only exception, and I still only saw them for a few days (a few of which I spent sleeping thanks to jetlag).
Thank you to everyone who helped make it possible for me to come, picking me up at the airport & letting me crash at your house (Chris & Jen), helping me out with staying at DDD (all my sistas), helping keep me on my toes for graduation (you SIS people) and for putting up with my nonstop antics (Stine). GREAT BIG THANK YOU to everyone who was able to make it to "the show" and see me embarrass myself, I mean make a speech. If you send me your mailing addy, I'll send you a photo!
:) After that lovely, but short, holiday, its back to Thailand and work for me. I've only been back since Weds (4 days I guess...) but it seems like I didn't even leave! So much work to catch up on and I'm looking for a new semi-permanent place to live. More later.
